Hi, True Believers.
I apologize for how long it’s been since my last update. I kept telling myself that the next update would be the Kickstarter announcement, but setting up my Kickstarter campaign has turned out to be a lot more work than I expected, and I was lucky enough to get some contracting gigs to keep the repo man away.
I’ve set myself what seems to me a realistic deadline of April 21st. Then, everyone will have the opportunity to become partners in the Codemancer enterprise. Of course YOU can say “I supported Codemancer before it was cool.”
In the meantime, I’ve been showing around a (somewhat incomplete) demo of the game, and distinguished game designer Jesse Schell was gracious enough to play through it. You can see the video result below.
I did a little blogging, which was featured in the IGDA Perspectives Newsletter, and I was interviewed for a piece in the Escapist online magazine. You can see all that stuff below.
Thanks again for taking this ride with me.
Getting Around the Interwebs
Educational Games: Who am I Selling to Again? a blog post I wrote about the difficulties inherent in marketing (and by extension, planning) an educational game for consumers. It was published in the IGDA Perspectives Newsletter.
Coding Clementines: Black Girls Make Games, Too is an article in The Escapist which used quotes from me and mentions Codemancer.
